General Directorate for Internet Services at CITC got the first place of the “motah” award
King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) represented by the National Program for Free and Open Source Software Technologies ‘Motah” announced winners’ names of two branches of prize. Winners would be honoured in a ceremony for this occasion under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, KACST President that would be held on Saturday 21st April 2012 at 9 – 10 o’clock in the Conference Hall at KACST’s headquarters.
The General Directorate for internet services at the Communication and Information Technology Commission got the first rank of the Usage Branch of the prize; the Drilling & Petroleum Engineering Centre of Saudi Aramco got the second rank while the IT Services’ Administration of King Faisal University occupied the third rank.
As for the Students’ Academic Projects, the first rank was harvested by the project of “Towards Simulating a Virtual Distributed Honey net” from King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). The project of “Let Us Learn Colors and Shapes” presented by King Saud University won the second rank.
It is worth mentioning that the prize targets spreading out general awareness of free software, stimulating both the public and private sectors and encouraging them as well as the whole society to use and develop free software besides supporting and honoring the intellectual and technological creativity of individuals and institutions in fields of free software.
